I’m thinking about posting my finished Plesiosaur and T Rex sometime this week. So maybe look out for that.

I’m loving this guy too much to not share. Still a personal piece, no contract yet. Once it’s finished (or when the whole project is completed) I’ll be putting up legit, cleaned up scans, so it won’t look so muddy. But since it’s just a work in progress, I’m okay with pixelation.

Super early (and pixelated as always) sneak peek of something I’m working on! As of right now this is still considered a personal piece, but it could become a commission, so this is the only picture I will be posting until the entire project is complete (if I get the gig).
I haven’t finished my Pliohippus piece and I still intend on finishing it soon (my portfolio depends on it), so I’ll be posting more pictures of that sometime soon, too. I also have a few other half-finished illustrations I’d like to see completed… Sooooo yeah.

Tricolored Heron (Egretta tricolor)

Work-In-Progess: 13 hrs, 45 minNow that the heat is gone, I spent another day at the drawing board with this tricolored heron! Still see a lot to work on, particularly in the wings, water/splash, and background, but I have hit that magic point where I start to like where the painting is headed!

When it’s 95 degrees outside and I don’t have A/C, trying to force myself to hunch over a painting is pretty tough - especially when said heat dries the acrylics at a frustratingly fast rate. Luckily I got myself through another 4.5 hours of work today while rewatching some old Castle episodes. I actually feel like this is starting to turn into a real painting now!

Very early WIP of the Tylo/Doli piece I’m working on. Just light watercolor washes right now, we’ll get into the heavy stuff a bit later (and by heavy I mean colored pencil). :P
