This one is very special to me because I grew up in the are where it lives, in the Gulf of California. Such a beautiful creature and Unique. And such sadness that it has come to this point.
Three years ago I did a mural that was partially destroyed by some people who where being manipulated in to arguing that it did not exist.
Where the Vaquita lives is protected under federal law, and is off limits to trawlers and big commercial fshing boats. Still, there is  a lot of artesanal fishing happening in it’s area and they cannot see the nets. They get entangled and because they need to get air to live they drown.

The Amur Leopard, only 35 left in the wild (approximate could be a little higher or less). Even if it was 100 the number is very small.

My final for Electronic II. The original project was a concept design one, but I asked if I could do something Scientific instead. So I had to choose an animal, depict its skeletal structure, muscular structure, etc, and draw it in its environment. I chose the Arctic Fox because I kind of miss the North.
Completed March 11, 2012. Photoshop CS4 and Corel Painter 12.
I’ll probably be making some revisions on this after critique.
