    The Sphingidae or hawk moths include many of the largest and most noticeable moths, certainly here in Britain. Their caterpillars are usually very big, I remember rearing a lime hawk moth caterpillar I found on the pavement until it became a large brown pupa that moved disturbingly when I touched it - I then put it out in the garden.
