Hi! I've been hunting around for some really good scientific illustration books, a lot of the ones i've come across are a little expensive. I would also like a book that has a little bit of everything and really great color illustrations (I would use these as reference for artwork). Any ideas? Thanks a lot!
Hi, I’d recommend these books as they have a wide variety of nice illustrations:
Voyages of Discovery: A Visual Celebration of Ten of the Greatest Natural History Expeditions by Tony Rice
Amazing Rare Things: The Art of Natural History in the Age of Discovery by David Attenborough
I’ve posted a list of the scientific illustration books I have which might give you some ideas:
Dinosaurs were my first geeky obsession. There is video somewhere of a five-year-old version of me giving an elaborate presentation on the subject to my cousins, explaining the difference between herbivores and carnivores and instructing them on the proper pronunciation of “Parasaurolophus.”
